Bharatanatyam Dancer · Bengaluru
Ten years of sādhana, one graceful art form
Disciple of Guru Smt. Abhinayaa Natarajan at Natarajarangam School of Dance. Ananya completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on 18 July 2026 before 400+ guests at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bengaluru — and is now building Natyam AI, a mobile app to help fellow students learn the art form.
The Dancer
Ananya Sharma began her Bharatanatyam journey at the age of 7. She received her foundational training under Smt. Aishwarya and has since been honing her artistry under the guidance of Guru Smt. Abhinayaa Natarajan at Natarajarangam School of Dance.
Over the last ten years, Ananya has performed at several prestigious venues across Bengaluru, including multiple appearances at Ravindra Kalakshetra, and has had the honour of presenting Bharatanatyam in celebrated temples and before large audiences during Maha Shivaratri and Ganesh Chaturthi festivities. Her commitment and perseverance have earned her the proud completion of the Karnataka Junior Examination for Bharatanatyam, conducted by Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University.
A passionate learner beyond the stage, Ananya is an enthusiastic reader with a keen interest in Computer Science and technology. She is developing Natyam AI, a mobile application that helps Bharatanatyam students analyse and improve their posture (mudra), facial expressions (abhinaya), rhythm (laya), and overall performance through intelligent feedback and personalised recommendations. She is currently pursuing Grade XII at GEAR Innovative International School, Bengaluru.
Ananya believes that while Bharatanatyam is rooted in timeless tradition, technology can play a meaningful role in making its learning more accessible, engaging, and effective for future generations.
